2012 came in like a hungry lion looking for its next meal. Here are some of the latest data-streams from around the globe—some of which have not happened in my lifetime…

Near Earth Objects Data Table:
- Name: 2008QY
- Approach Date: 14th February 2012
- Estimated Diameter: 540 Meters – 1.2 Kilometers (591 Yards)
- Relative Velocity: 22.9 Meters Per Second – 80,244 Kilometers Per Hour (49862 MPH)
The above NEO (Near Earth Object) is one of approximately 3000 that are being tracked by NASA. It has been estimated that there are an additional 30,000 objects streaming through our galaxy that aren’t being tracked or monitored. Should one object impact another, the collision could send a stadium size object screaming towards our planet.
The Question: Would the US Government alert the civilian population that a chunk of rock the size of the super dome was screaming towards us at 50,000 miles per hour; or would they remain quiet about this event in order to forestall any mass panic…?
