The earth shook with an unimaginable intensity; collapsing even the most strongest and well-built structures. Immense skyscrapers, a monument to mankind’s engineering, toppled in just seconds. Never before in recorded history had the world witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of a 17 point earthquake. But not just one single quake, hundreds of quakes per hour. Their rumblings and shaking merging together to create a never ending roar which drowned out all other sounds.
Sounds such as the screaming of those injured, the death cries as victims met their fate, and the groan of buildings collapsing under the extreme shaking, ripping everything apart.
All across the great city, earthquake swarms destroyed in mere seconds, that which man had built throughout the generations. Bridges, roads, tunnels; none were spared from the massive mega-earthquakes. Fires quickly spread as gas mains erupted under the streets; adding to the cacophony of destruction came the giant toxic gas clouds as chemical plants exploded, to spew their deadly compounds into the already noxious air.
The quakes lasted but a mere forty two minutes; but in its wake of destruction, little remained that resembled The Big Apple. Debris litter every road. Not one single bridge or over-head walkway remained upright. Street lights slewed across cars, crushed people lay all about the streets. Roaring fires dominated the landscape, and the wind carried the stench of death out across the swelling seas.
Those survivors who managed to keep alive, were stunned to hear the fury of the wind increasing to a howling roar. Wind rushing out from across the ocean blasted headlong into the once sprawling city. Increasing in intensity, the wind storm reached its peak at 350 miles per hour. Hurdling shards of glass, steel, concrete, and even mangled cars against the already battered survivors.
Bethany Wills screamed in utter fear. She’d barely managed to escape the tenement house as the earthquakes tore the neighborhood apart piece by piece. Behind her, the mangled remains of her parents and brothers remained under the massive rubble pile that had been her childhood home. She didn’t even have time to cry, before the mega-hurricane force winds assailed everything in its path.
Barley managing to crawl into a drainage tunnel, she heard the screams as the furious wind plucked injured victims right off the street, smashing them against rubble piles. Their screams quickly drown out by the vulgar roar of the horrendous wind.
Covering her ears with both hands, she screamed in sheer fear. Her right shoe sucked right off her foot, threatening to jerk her out of the small cramped drainage tunnel. She willed herself to crawl on her belly, deeper into the surrounding darkness. Her hands and knees bleeding from the many cuts; but her fear urging her deeper into the labyrinth of claustrophobic darkness.
The mega-hurricane winds blasted itself for several hours against the remains of the largest and most populated city in the world. Millions had perished in less than one hour; and as the fierce winds subsided; the smell of salt air arose. The tiniest trickle of water against the heaps of rubble, soon turned into a torrent as water quickly inundated across the now dead city of New York.

Description
Sakurajima continued its second day of violent eruptions on Tuesday, spewing hot rocks and ash, but there was no major damage in the vicinity, the Japanese Meteorological Agency said. The agency said Monday's powerful eruption was the most forceful since 2009. The volcano is located in the southern prefecture of Kagoshima. The Meteorological Agency added that the volcano has been erupting steadily for the last two years, but the eruption on Monday turned violent, throwing 50-centimetre (1 foot 6 inches) rocks nearly 1.2 miles away, the furthest since 2009. In response, the Meteorological agency extended the eruption warning to residents living further away from the mouth of the volcano. The volcano has already had over 300 eruptions this year. Sakurajima volcano, one of Japan's more active volcanoes, resumed activity in 1955 and has been active ever since. Sakurajima volcano in Japan's southern Kagoshima prefecture erupts violently in what officials say is the most powerful since 2009, though there has been no damage so far.

The Nevado del Ruiz volcano, whose eruption 26 years ago killed around 25,000 people, is showing signs of activity after nearly 20 years laying dormant, said Colombian geological group Ingeominas Thursday. Early Friday morning, geologists completed an observational fly-over with the assistance of the Colombian Air Force, during which they photographed the Nevado del Ruiz volcano and noted "ash on the glacier, near the crater rim and on the eastern flank," as well as a 4,500 foot gas column at the mouth of the volcano. During the same day a seismic tremor was reported along with an increase in sulfur dioxide emissions. All of these factors signal that the volcano is heating up. Located about 80 miles west of Bogota, Nevado del Ruiz is an active volcano that produces pyroclastic flows, or swift currents of hot gas and rock that lead to destructive mudslides. There have been numerous eruptions over the centuries, with the most recent was on November 13, 1985.

Friday saw a new eruption of the Bezymianny volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East. Earlier in the day, the volcano spewed ash up to 8 kilometers high, seismologists said, adding that the eruption does not pose a threat to population centers in the area. One of the most active volcanoes in the world, Bezymianny is located 350 kilometers northeast of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. During its most powerful eruption in 1956, the 2,800-meter volcano ejected about three cubic kilometers of volcanic debris in a very short time.

Monitors have detected what is described as a small explosion at the Cleveland Volcano in Alaska. The volcano is located in Alaska's remote Aleutian Islands, southwest of Anchorage. According to the Alaska Volcano Observatory, the eruption happened just after 7 p.m. Wednesday. The incident was similar to eruptions in December which sent small ash clouds into the atmosphere. But they were small enough to dissipate quickly, and did not interfere with air traffic. Photos of the latest explosion was masked by cloud cover so satellite imagery is unavailable.

Ecuador's Instituto Geofísico (IG) reports an increase of Tunguarahua volcano's activity: Since last night (3 March), 4 explosions have been reported of moderate to large size. An explosion at 07:31 local time today produced an ash columnreaching about 4 km in height and drifting to the west - northwest. A second explosion took place at 09:11 (local time) and produced a strong shock wave that rattled the ground and windows in nearby areas. CLoud cover has prevented detailed observations, but with the help of thermal sensors, hot fresh deposits were detected on the flanks, suggesting they were the result of a pyroclastic flow. In the morning, the observatory post at Cusúa reported the presence of hot deposits on the upper flank typical for fresh pyroclastic flow deposits. Ash fall was reported from Choglontús, Manzano and Motilones areas before, and this morning ashfall reached the Yuibug area. The monitoring system has been recording variable seismicity and powerful tremor episodes lasting minutes to hours (which probably indicate rising magma), interrupted by short moderate to large explosion signals corresponding to the ash eruptions from the growing lava dome.

This is a repost of an article that I wrote in February 2012. It’s rather uncanny how much of what what explored in this article has come to fruition two years later.
In a previous article I discussed the consequence of another earthquake in Alaska, such as occurred in 1964. This article will deal with a more frightening scenario—Pole Shift.
In this hypotheses, it is summarized by several factors leading to a shifting in the poles. However; there is considerable speculation as to what might actually occur in this event.
Generally there are two distinct types of pole shifts that could occur:
The geophysical pole shift scenario; whereupon the north and south poles change relative position, and the geomagnetic pole shift—a scenario that has the inner (magnetic core) of the earth shifting due to some outside interference.
Geophysical Pole Shifting was the basis for the blockbuster movie 2012; In the movie, the earth’s physical poles shifted due to an interaction with a rogue planet passing through our solar system. This scenario is embraced by many ardent followers of the Planet-X scenario. Among the followers are the Zeta’s. An internet based survival group that been on the scene for twenty or more years.
In their Troubled Times forum, Anchorage Alaska is described as;
“Anchorage is dealt several blows during the shift, as it lies along a coastline, is near a chain of volcanoes, and borders the Pacific where subduction of plates will occur. During the week of rotation stoppage, the water normally pooled at the equator due to the effect of rotation will drift toward the poles, equalizing. Thus, the tides will be higher. At the shift, the volcanoes to the west will explode spewing ash over the nearby vicinity, which will become upwind to Anchorage to some degree due to the prevailing westerly winds which will still pull the ash toward Anchorage. Sloshing water, already higher than normal along the coast, will rise to the tops of the buildings in the city. After the shift, however, the ocean fishing, and the familiarity of the people with this activity, should prove a good lifestyle. Survivors will need to become accustomed to a very warmer climate, as the new Anchorage will be close to the new equator. “
“Alaska will fare well during the coming geological changes for a number of reasons. Where it is now in a cold climate, it will move to a very temperate location. The volcanic eruptions anticipated where Alaska's active volcanoes now exist should blow out across the water, not inland, under the influence of the new prevailing westerly winds, so the land should be spared. And since it is scarcely populated, there will not be the problem of masses of starving humans to contend with, which can create destructive riots. In selecting locations in Alaska, one should consider the possibility of tidal waves along the coast, but the key consideration should be the volcanoes, which are already active, and which will increase their activity to the point of exploding during the pole shift.
The Alaskan Pipeline will inevitably be fractures along its course during the pole shift and will thus drain dry. What oil does not soak into the ground will be lit and burned during the lightning storms that occur during the pole shift, a burning that might start at only one place but will spark burning along the entire course. Oil that does not drain out of the pipeline will burn at the ends, creating a torch that may burn for months.”
The effects of a geophysical pole shift would include the following catastrophes: · Mega-Earthquakes · Tsunamis · Large scale Volcanic eruptions · Cyclonic winds · Massive Inland flooding · Meteor showers · Wild fires · Tectonic Plate shift · Ocean sloshing · Geophysical position change
This particular scenario is horrific in itself. The basis for this hypotheses has been argued by several learned scholars, and the potentialities discussed over the years by think tanks and various government agencies. While none have publically announced that this scenario is credible, none have denounced it either.
Currently there are reams of pages that point to the likelihood of this scenario occurring in the early part of December 2012. Chief among them are the ancient Mayans predictions, Edward Cayce, Jean Dixon, Nostradamus, and others who have published prophecies regarding this. Additionally the Holy Bible also predicts a similar fate—though no exact date is given therein.
If a number of volcanoes were to erupt either at the same time, or in sequence throughout the course of a week; the result would lead to a “Nuclear Winter” scenario. The introduction of massive ash clouds into the upper atmosphere would block out the sunlight, and temperatures would drop significantly. A sudden drop in temperatures would thereby have cataclysmic effects on the entire globe.
In a geomagnetic pole shit, the magnetic poles would change polarity, and many scientists feel that this scenario is more plausible, and more likely to occur. Experts believe that the present magnetic field changes are a prelude to such a pole shift scenario.
One cannot also discount the recognized association between earthquakes and the movement of the planets. Tidal like effects drive the oceans tides, and is thought to also affect wildlife, as well as human moods and behaviors.
The Dark Rift is the galactic alignment of the December solstice sun with the Galactic equator. This alignment occurs as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. This Galactic Alignment occurs only once every 26,000 years, and was what the ancient Maya were pointing to with the 2012 end-date of their Long Count calendar. Many people strongly believe that the galactic alignment will signal the end of the world scenarios.
No matter what anyone believes, the fact is that we are witnessing first hand a rapid and progressive change in our world. Winter storms have been more severe than before, flooding has plagued many of the Midwest states, while drought has affected others.
Marine sea life have mysteriously beached themselves on the shorelines of our coasts, baffling the scientific community. Black silt that is normally found on the ocean floor, has turned up in the Gulf of Mexico, and nobody can explain how it got there, or even why. Earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic activity has increased dramatically over the last few years.
All of these occurrences correspond to the fact that planet earth is presently undergoing severe changes. The future outcome is as of yet unpredictable, but many people around the world are convinced that in 2012 mankind will undergo a catastrophic event that will rapidly change our planet, and perhaps erase a large percentage of the human population.
Historically it has been proven that our ancestors endured a similar fate during their time on this small planet. Considering the fact that most of the deserts around the world were once lush tropical continents, and the unmitigated fact that fossilized fish have been found in our southern deserts, and also in the Hindu Kusch mountains—would substantiate that earth’s history is filled with pole shift theories.
The Mayans have been counting down to the year 2012 for centuries; as have many other societies, cultures, and religions. To many people around the world; the year 2012 has held a certain mystique, and for some, the arrival of an apocalyptic era that which brings with it chaos and death.
The most important events that will occur are the Inter-Galactic Planetary alignment, and the anticipated Solar storms of 2012. These two events are significant in their own respects, and when combined, could create some difficulties for all of us in the year ahead.
In a recent article Titled “2012 Worse Case Scenarios” I explored the different aspects of how these two events could play out; and quoted several sources to confirm my own research.
Galactic Alignment:
Coastal tides and/or water levels influenced
Strange animal behavior
Strange human behavior
Polar Magnetic field degradation
Potential increased seismic activity
Potential increased volcanic activity
2012 Solar Storms:
Disruption and/or degradation of wireless communication devices
“Is there a possibility that both of these events will coincide to wreck our world?” Nobody knows for sure—it’s all just guess work when you break it down into the elemental stages.
I do know this much:
The earth’s crust that we live on is only about fifty miles thick. Underneath all of that, is a mixture of rock, steel, and magma.
All of the world’s continents are literally surrounded by oceans.
All of the oceans have undersea volcanoes and hot-spots.
The Tectonic pates are constantly in motion.
All volcanoes are inter-connected by the magna-chamber which feeds the molten lava to the surface at enormous pressures.
If sea water is introduced to the lava—a violent eruption occurs.
Earthquakes are due to plate-shifts; and that in turn creates tsunamis that roar inland at 500 MPH.
Earthquakes generally follow fault-lines.
Fault-Lines create a conduit for earthquakes. They travel up and down the fault lines, in near sequence.
The coastal areas of the United States contains a large population that is AT RISK, regardless if something happens in 2012 or not. These events make it just a little more riskier for coastal dwellers.
There are many possibilities for these two events to lead us all down a path of destruction. Each event creates its own unique set of possibilities, and requires a unique response from a survival perspective. I tend to look at this things in a “Worse Case” scenario. Planning is accomplished along those lines…
In recent months I have been deluged with request from people from all across the globe to help them find survival groups, or to help them start their own group. Requests that keep pouring in with no end in sight. But, I understand; we are after all--living on the cusp of the 2012 Prophecies.
I’ve tried to answer everyone that has taken to time to send me a message. I’ve done my very best to help them with whatever that they were asking of me—short of having them come to Alaska and occupy the spare bedroom in my home.
After giving it much thought, I believe that the best thing that anyone can do, is to reach out to those people in their own area, and get busy making some serious survival plans. Now is NOT the time to be distant from your neighbors. I’ve learned that there is probably one survivalists that lives on every street, in every city. The job is to find out who they are,
So, I’ve tried to make it easy to find “likeminded” people. But, I need your help in getting the job done…
The link below is the portal to a brand new survival forum that I have put together in the last week. I’m hoping that each of you will take a moment to register, and then introduce yourself. Even Better—post some of your own skills, experiences, and survival knowledge, so that others can learn from our collective skillset.
Get the word out about this forum. Post it wherever you can; and let people know that we exist. It’s a free forum that doesn’t cost me a dime, and I don’t make a dime off it. It’s strictly to share the information, and get people together before the collapse of society.
Already I have spoken with a few people about setting up survival groups in New Jersey, Iowa, California, Texas, and Colorado. There are others, but we haven’t reached the actual agreement, so I will not post their states until I know for sure that they are on board.
Each of these State Groups will start from scratch. The Group (Interim) Leaders will be busy getting everything set-up, and will receive lots of instruction from me, and some of the people from my own group here in Alaska. We will try to emulate the success that The Alaska Watchmen Group has experienced, among those State groups.
But, I also have to tell you this: Each of the State Groups will operate under the exact same guidelines that my group does:
The Group will not be a security blanket or welfare department for the unprepared. Just because a potential new member isn’t prepared, doesn’t automatically mean that they are rejected. But it does mean that they must show progress every month in getting their food supplies in order.
The member must be able to stand on their own two feet when it comes to acquiring food, water, and supplies. Like I tell my new candidates here; “Don’t show up at our Rally Point or Safe Area empty handed” The group will vote whether we want to feed you, or send you packing.
Each member will have to understand when they say “I Got Your Back !”; it means just that, and nothing less!
The Group operates as a TEAM, trains as a TEAM, and plans as a TEAM. There is no petty dictatorship or Type-A Personality Control Freaks allowed. (The world already has enough of those…)
There will be a small monthly due. Without dues, the Group cannot purchase Long-Term food supplies, communications gear, or medical kits. Any survival group that doesn’t ask for dues to cover these issues, has a problem with communications.
Folks; I think that sometime between March and June the world will start feeling the initial effects of the 2012 syndrome. It’s not going to happen all at once. It will happen like a summer rain-storm; it will mist into our lives, and then blow like hell when it gets dark…
We have 11-Mont's before the Galactic Alignment, and 11-Months before the Solar Storm reach their peak cycles. There isn’t much time to start bickering, or side-stepping these issues. No matter what you do today; make sure that you and your family will have the ability to eat,drink, and keep war. December 21st 2012 is in the middle of winter.
In many different articles over the years I have tried to explain the necessity of utilizing a “Low Impact” technique to be used when conducting a Tactical Bug Out. Camping stoves that require bottled or canned fuel is okay for camping, but when SHTF, an alternative method must be considered—for many different reasons.
Commonly called the Espit’ Stove; its origins are of East Germany, and were widely used during the cold war ear. The fuel consisted of small trioxide tablets which averaged a 15-minute burn time. Enough to boil some coffee water, or heat a can of stew.
These stoves can be purchased in most military surplus stores, or they can be found on-line at EBay and other online retailers. In some cases, the fuel tabs are supplied as well.
I make my own fuel tabs in the following manner:
Small Pot
Cleaned Soup Can
Thongs or Tweezers
Paraffin Wax
Aluminum Foil
Using a pot filled half-way with water; I place a cleaned soup can in the middle of the pot, and then ignite the stove. Using paraffin wax purchased at my local hobby store, I break the wax into small pieces, and drop them into the can.
Using a pair of thongs, a cotton ball is then dipped into the hot melted wax. The saturated cotton ball is then placed on a 3” x 3” piece of aluminum foil, and the ends twisted like a candy kiss.
The fuel tabs can be made smaller, or larger as needed. The normal cotton ball size will burn for at least 30-minutes; while a cotton ball half the size will burn for about 10-15 minutes. A novel idea that can be used, is to tear the cotton ball into three strips, and then roll the strips between your fingers until it resembles a small sausage.
Having used this set-up for years; I take comfort in knowing that during a SHTF scenario, I will not have to resort to building a campfire to cook food; thereby betraying my presence. Additionally; the wax-saturated cotton balls can also be used as a source of heat and light inside small tents, or primitive shelters.
Another stove along this line is called The “Volcano Stove”; another fine invention by foreign military units. It works on the same principal as the Esbit Stove, but is taller, and comes with a built in water bottle and canteen cup.
Even if fuel becomes a problem; both of these stove can be fired with small twigs, leaves, and other combustible materials. For long term solutions, it’s hard to beat these stove. The only difference is their size and weight.
NOTE: using an old soup can, it’s easy to build a Volcano Stove with little effort. Look at the above picture, and see where to punch the air holes. Fuel and tinder can be carried inside of the stove with relative ease.
I spend a lot of time out in the Alaska bush country checking our gear, equipment, and survival strategies. Recently I had the opportunity to check out the KEL-TEC SU-16 Assault Rifle; a weapon that at first appearance, looked like a cheap imported plastic piece of junk.
The very first thing that I noticed is that this is probably the lightest rifle that I have ever held in my hands. It felt more like a high-end pellet gun, than a death dealing weapon.
The rifle accepts standard AR-15 magazines, as well as Kel-Tec magazines. This is an added bonus because I find it ludicrous to have to shell out $49.99 for magazines. This should be the standard used by all firearms manufacturers in the U.S. I’ve turned down different weapons because the magazines were hard to find, or cost and arm and a leg.
The sights on this rifle proved adequate. This front and rear sight alignment worked for me without any problems. The back sight is mounted on a picatinny rail, so switching out to a electronic sight is pretty simple.
The front hand-guard folds out into a bi-pod. For precision bench-rest shooting, or sighting in the rifle, this system works great. The only problem that I found with the bi-pod, is the fact that it has a tendency to wiggle around. Perhaps Kel-Tec could fix that little problem in the future.
The rifle’s butt stock holds two 10-round magazines. The magazines don’t rattle around, and this is an ideal situation. having an additional 20-rounds at your fingertips is great for survivalists.
There is a knock-out pin right behind the trigger group. Removing this pin allows the butt-stock to be folded; thereby reducing the length of the riffle for easier storage in the Bug Out Bag.
At the range, this rifle consistently put rounds into the target without any problems. The trigger was crisp, and didn’t have the normal “click” associated with most assault rifles. Even on rapid fire, the rifle performed without any flaws whatsoever.
What is pretty unique about this weapon, is that the upper receiver resembles an AK-47, while the lower receiver looks like an AR-15. Notice the gas tube in the pictures, and you can see for yourself the AK appearance.
Kel-Tec designed this rifle without a pistol grip. I’ve heard that this was to make it more of a “sporting” rifle, and to get by the various “Assault Rifle” prohibitions in certain communist states.
For survivalists, this rifle would be a great addition to the survival armory. The price is half of the costs of other assault rifles. The weight is fantastic, and performance is on-par with the M-4 battle rifle.
There has been much discussion centered on this subject. Many people believe that the world will end; that all of humanity, or at least a good portion of it, will perish during the onslaught of these events.
There has never been any real scientific modeling of what could happen under the most extreme conditions. Scientists have concluded that our planet has undergone five separate pole shift (type) scenarios during the history of this little rock that is ours.
So what will happen?
There will be no more Starbuck coffee shops around. The movie theaters will cease to exist, and rush hour commuting will be a thing of the past…
Just go ahead and shoot yourself now!
During a pole shift, the earth’s magnetic lines start an abrupt travel, or leaning in another direction. It’s been suggested that the mantel that we live on, in other words “The Crust”, will shift position. That has serious ramifications. Alaska would end up just about where Hawaii is right now. Imagine Polar bears and icebergs floating around in that tropical area.
The oceans would slosh all over the place. Much like what happens when you fill the bathtub to the brim, and then get into it. Rubber ducky’s all over the place, and a wet floor. The polar ice caps would melt; adding several feet to the sea levels, and that in itself would be enough to wipe the coastlines
Coastal cities would be inundate by a massive flood that reaches 150 to 200 miles inland. Every river, stream, creek, pond, and lake along the coast would quickly become part of the rising ocean. Fresh water fish would die in the salt water, as would many of the algae that inhabits fresh water. Of course, drinking water would suffer as well, since many of the metropolitan water supplies are pumped from rivers and lakes.
Water is the essence of life, and without drinking water, instant Starbucks coffee suddenly becomes a thing of the past.
