Survival Firearms: Is enough ever enough?

DSC04732
Firearms play an important role in the scope of survivalism. There is no doubt that having a firearm for self-protection and hunting is a prerequisite. But it shouldn’t be the over-laying factor when it comes to survival planning.
Everyone seems to have an opinion as to what is the best weapon, as well as the number of weapons the survival armory should contain. The problem is; “can you ever have enough weapons?”
If I were to make a list of all the guns that I want; the list would be huge, and I would certainly run out of storage areas to keep them all. So I’ve had to narrow my desires to a few well chosen guns that I can rely upon. That doesn’t mean I won’t ever add additional guns to the pile, just that at some point I had to wake-up and make some serious decisions to what is practical.
Ruger Mini-14 .223 cal:This fine little rifle serves well for plinking, hunting, and protection. It’s very lightweight compared to other rifles like it; and they can be purchased for less then $500.00 just about everywhere. The downside is that magazines for this rifle are getting hard to find, or the costs are through the roof.
Mossberg #500 12-Gauge Tactical Shotgun:No decent survivalist would be caught dead without a tactical shotgun. The variety of rounds make this a decent all-around weapon choice for the survivalist.
Ruger #1022 .22 cal: This is a nifty little rifle that takes down small game with relative ease. Ammunition is still pretty cheap these days. My children “cut their teeth” on this rifle, and has provided many fond memories throughout those special times that we shared on the range.
Mosin-Naggant 7.62x54R: This old and proven battle rifle has earned its place in my survival armory. Sometimes referred to as a “Russian .308”; the Mosin is a decent all around survival rifle. I keep mine strapped to my ATV, and have taken it out on several hunting trips as a backup rifle. You can abuse this rifle, and it will function without flaw. Its design makes it a hardy rifle that can be used for almost every survival situation. Back in the early 1980’s I bought my first Mosin for a whopping $59.00. These days expect to pay a little more than $120.00 for the same rifle. Ammunition is plentiful, but I have watched the prices creep ever upwards. Surplus Armor Piercing ammunition is becoming increasingly more difficult to find out there.
Ruger #77 .338 Winchester Magnum: Another main-stay firearm that has proven its worth. The .338 caliber bullet is widely used here in Alaska for hunting and predator control. I recently had the barrel cut down to 24 inches to make it more maneuverable out in the bush country.
Remington #870 12-Gauge: What can I say about the fabled Remington 870? This shotgun is favored by law enforcement and hunters alike. It’s a little heavier than other shotguns, but reliability is the real factor when it comes to a Remington shotgun.
I have friends whose survival armory contain enough guns to equip a small army. I laugh when I think about how much they spend on ammunition. The prices for ammo is going through the roof these days. I think it will continue to creep upwards throughout the next year, because more and more people are stocking up their ammo locker. The increased demand for ammunition has driven the prices sky-high. For me—that means it’s time to learn how to re-load my own ammunition.
For years I’ve been teaching other people tactical survival skills. Firearms is the one subject that I spend considerable time on. It’s important to understand that a real survivalist cannot carry every gun that is needed, nor enough ammunition to ward of the Zombies during the apocalypse. The fact is that our frail bodies can only carry so much weight on our backs. Humping around three guns and a few thousand round of ammo—is pure fantasy. It comes down to choosing a decent all around survival gun; and then learning to shoot with it like it’s an extension of your body.
Choose one long-gun, and one handgun—then spend a lot of time at the range getting comfortable with the characteristics of each weapon. Shooting at night, when it’s raining, when it’s freezing outside, and while running—are some of the methods of learning your guns. It’s one thing to shoot at paper targets; but it’s a whole different creature when the targets are shooting back.

Taurus “Raging Bull” .454-Casull Magnum Review

4e7bbc851a99cea0abc62976c

Now THIS is a ear-banging hard-hitting handgun that will knock down refrigerators, and leave you pumping the trigger for more of the same!

Earlier this summer I was doing some exploring out in the bush country. It was a beautiful afternoon, the air was cool but not chilly, and I was glad to be away from all of the hustle-bustle of life in the big city of Anchorage Alaska.

Tromping through the Alaska jungle is one of my favorite past-times. It gives me a sense of peace, and I think that it also allows me to explore those primal urges and feelings that my ancestors have endowed me with; the love of the outdoors, and the sense of adventure that comes with living in Alaska.

One this particular day I had just stepped out of the tree line, and taken about forty steps onto the prevalent muskeg that is so common around the Talkeetna mountains. With the muck squishing underneath my boots, and my eyes picking out a trail across the muddy waters; I didn’t see the very large grizzly bear and her four cubs at first. What got my attention was her movement on two feet. She was standing up and having a hard look right at me.

I froze; reaching for my trusty 44-Magnum handgun, I wondered if the six shots would be enough to take out four attacking bears, and wondering how fast the bear could get to me. There was no place for me to go—I was out in the open, and exposed.

Luckily for me the bear decided that I probably wouldn’t taste good—either that or the “laser-beam-signal” that I was consciously sending to her warned her away. I’m not sure what happened, but she huffed and took her kids back into the woods.

Later that day as I replayed that event in my mind, I came to the conclusion that a .44-Magnum just didn’t have the knock-down power that I wanted. I’d been slobbering over a .454-Casull Magnum for a few months; and the next weekend I made it mine.

4e7bbc8510ad640647d7a5bc7

This gun feels right when held in my hands. The balance is correct, and the rubber grip fits comfortably. It’s a little heavier than what I am used to, but for the huge caliber that rockets out of the barrel—it’s what I expect from a large caliber handgun like this.

frankeschein_0002x

As you can see from the picture above; the .454-Casull Magnum is a large cartridge. There are other bigger handgun cartridges out there, but for these purposes the cartridge is sufficient for what I require it to do—Protection!

Ballistics Source

What is astounding about the .45-Casull, is the tremendous knock-down power that this bullet has downrange.

Look at the table above—a 400 Grain bullet whizzes down-range at 1400 Feet per Second, and slams into the target at 1741 foot pounds of energy. That’s close enough for me and the reason that I made the handgun mine.

The next time that I am faced with a bear encounter; perhaps the potency of this cartridge will bring an added element to the situation. I hope that it never arrives to that point; but as a survivalist; it’s always a good idea to plan ahead.

Alaska Survival: The .375 H&H Magnum Review

alaska_bush_country

For most survivalist living down in the Lower-48 States, the threats faced when things go south are completely different than what we Alaskan’s face—almost on a daily basis.

Alaska is surrounded on three sides by oceans. We have more active and dormant volcanoes than any place on the face of the globe, and our state gets rocked with 5,000 earthquakes every month.

The primary threats that we face are due largely to the antiquated transportation system that we rely upon for all of our food and critical supplies such as fuel, vegetables, and other consumer commodities.

The railroad hauls a lot of stuff into our cities, followed closely by the various airlines that fly in priority shipments. Sadly though; most of what we have, is brought in by marine barge service. These barges are oftentimes delayed because of bad weather. Whenever that happens, the prices seem to go up a little, and our transportation and distribution network comes to a near standstill until the barges finally make it into port. Maybe that’s why Alaskan's are paying about 60% more for things, as opposed to people living down in America.

Alaska has seen it’s share of natural disasters; but I think that the new generation has completely forgotten the little fact that Mother Nature can wreck our lives quicker than a flashbulb going off. Everyday I see young couples shopping for their evening meal with no through given to next week, or the consequences of how their lives would be affected if something BIG were to happen while they slept.

The one good thing about surviving in this Great State, is the simple fact that there aren’t that many people living up here. Most big states down in the States have more people living in them, than the population of Alaska has altogether. That’s a definite bonus when the zombie-apocalypse occurs…

With the current trend of survival firearms becoming more militaristic in nature ; the fact remains that an assault rifle just doesn’t work up here. The caliber is too small to stop large predators, and to ineffective to be useful for hunting our game.

Most of us carry and use heavy caliber rifles and handguns, for both self-protection, and hunting. That doesn’t mean that the assault rifles aren’t present, just that they aren’t the primary weapons that the average Alaskan survivalists considers worthwhile.

DSC_0003

The Remington #700 “Classic” .375 H&H Magnum stands out as one of the better survival guns up here. The rifle is lightweight, easy to maneuver in the bush, and the ballistics of the heavy-hitting slug will perform under the extreme conditions found up here.

frankeschein_0001X

I tend to use the 300 Grain cartridge for both hunting and predator protection. This particular bullet comes roaring out of the barrel at 2645 feet per second—and is devastating with its 4661 pounds of pure energy. Whether it’s a bull moose that will put meat in the smoker, or to stop a charging Grizzly Bear; the .375 Holland & Holland Magnum is up for the job.

I’m always asked why I choose a caliber that costs nearly $85.00 for a box of 20-Rounds. The answer is pretty simple; When that 1000 Pound Pissed-Off Grizzly Bear is coming at you at the speed of light, and the only thing between you and certain death is a $4.25 bullet—how much would you be willing to spend at that “exact” moment to save your life?

“Everything in my wallet and everything in my bank account !”

ALASKA_SURVIVAL

Over the years I’ve talked with many other people that like to roam the bush-country about what type of weapon that they carry for bear protection. I've heard everything from shotguns, to handguns, to little .22 caliber pistols; but I’ve never heard of anyone humping an assault rifle as a bear gun. For some reason that just doesn’t jive up here.

I’ve been told that “shot placement” is the key to dangerous bears encounters. But I look at it in a funny way; When that bear is coming at me, I want the first shot to stop it—or kill it in its tracks. If I have to shoot a second time then it’s only to put the bear out of its misery. I want maximum firepower, maximum bang for my buck, and live to tell about it—thankful for having spent $85.00 on the box of shells.

as with anything related to survivalist, my ideas are my own, and I’m sure that not everyone will agree with me on this subject, or my choice of calibers and firearms. But you see; that’s my choice, and my way of doing things. When the chips are down the only thing that you have to fall back onto—is yourself and what you have learned.

I learned that big game, and big critters require a big bullet—sho nuff”---

Survival Communication

2950-1

Having a decent communications system is paramount to survivalists, and survival groups. Without an adequate means to reach out across the miles, will severely hinder even the most well-prepared.

Most survivalists tend to use Citizen’s Band radios; though these radios will do the job, they are restricted to less than 5-miles, and inclement weather will reduce their transmission range exponentially. It’s much better to invest in a commercial UHF or VHF band radio, or as a minimum, a hand-held radio in the same band. There are several models available; but the two criteria that are necessary, is the frequency range and transmission power of the radio.

kline

The Alaska Watchmen Group uses both hand-held, and mobile radios as the primary communications system in case things go south. Our radios were purchased with portability, and frequency range in mind. It’s important that we have the ability to communicate with each other in an emergency.

Our Wide Area Radio Network [ WARN ] was set-up to allow group members to stay in touch, and to receive emergency information during an event that disrupts the normal communications system. Having this network in place gives each of us the ability to establish and maintain communications; receive important information, and reach out across the miles while everybody else is left in the dark.

We are presently expanding the radio network to include other survivalists and survival groups around the country. If you have long-range radio capability, then please click HERE to access our webpage about setting-up an emergency radio communications network.

This network will be activated during an emergency.

Iran: The New Nazi Party

379px-Bundesarchiv_Bild_183-S33882,_Adolf_Hitler_retouched Mahmoud_Ahmadinejad

Iran keeps threatening Israel and the West with nuclear destruction.

Recently; The Fourth Reich has warned that it will launch missile into Turkey: Missiles aimed at NATO’S missile shield—a shield deployed to protect Europe and Israel because of Iran’s nuclear ambitions, and the likelihood that Iran might launch an unprecedented missile barrage at Israel.

Iran threatens to hit Turkey if US, Israel attack

Some US leaders have publically suggested that special operations forces should be deployed to Iran, and take this evil creature out of the picture. I concur 100% !

This guy has got to be taken down like the rabid dog that he is. Every other day he’s on television spouting the same of line of hate—day after day; he rages on Iranian television urging his demented followers to “Wipe The Jews Off The Map”—a line that has Israel a little worried. Worried to the point that it wouldn’t surprise me when the Israeli Air Force bombs their nuclear plants back into the stone age.

Remember; this is the leader of a country that will toss its citizens in jail for five years if they travel to Israel. The same country that hangs homosexuals, and kills protesters that are fed up with this monkey’s crap.

I’m sure that behind the scene Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is “touching” himself at the prospect of using NUKES on Israel. If you think that the price of gasoline is high now; wait until The West goes to war with the evil empire of Iran.

The Iranian navy has been training for years on shutting down the Strait of Hormuz—where 40% of the world’s oil tankers cruise. Iran has spent considerable time and effort to insure that the worlds oil supply is affected.

Iran builds 3 more submarines for navy

Ask yourself a simple question: “Why would a mid-eastern country need submarines"?” To shut down the Strait, and to get into missile range of Israel—that’s why.

Let’s not forget that Iran has already killed Americans. They were one of the leading forces during the first two years of Iraq’s 9so called) resistance movement. Iranian Special Forces were the one’s most responsible for guerilla attacks against American soldiers.

They also are one of the world’s leading exporters of firearms, explosives, and munitions. Hamas and Hezbollah have been armed to the teeth by this fanatical (Nazi) country that is bent on starting another World War.

Kel-Tec SU-16 Rifle (Review)

DSC00004

I spend a lot of time out in the Alaska bush country checking our gear, equipment, and survival strategies. Recently I had the opportunity to check out the KEL-TEC SU-16 Assault Rifle; a weapon that at first appearance, looked like a cheap imported plastic piece of junk.

The very first thing that I noticed is that this is probably the lightest rifle that I have ever held in my hands. It felt more like a high-end pellet gun, than a death dealing weapon.

The rifle accepts standard AR-15 magazines, as well as Kel-Tec magazines. This is an added bonus because I find it ludicrous to have to shell out $49.99 for magazines. This should be the standard used by all firearms manufacturers in the U.S. I’ve turned down different weapons because the magazines were hard to find, or cost and arm and a leg.

The sights on this rifle proved adequate. This front and rear sight alignment worked for me without any problems. The back sight is mounted on a picatinny rail, so switching out to a electronic sight is pretty simple.

The front hand-guard folds out into a bi-pod. For precision bench-rest shooting, or sighting in the rifle, this system works great. The only problem that I found with the bi-pod, is the fact that it has a tendency to wiggle around. Perhaps Kel-Tec could fix that little problem in the future.

The rifle’s butt stock holds two 10-round magazines. The magazines don’t rattle around, and this is an ideal situation. having an additional 20-rounds at your fingertips is great for survivalists.

There is a knock-out pin right behind the trigger group. Removing this pin allows the butt-stock to be folded; thereby reducing the length of the riffle for easier storage in the Bug Out Bag.

At the range, this rifle consistently put rounds into the target without any problems. The trigger was crisp, and didn’t have the normal “click” associated with most assault rifles. Even on rapid fire, the rifle performed without any flaws whatsoever.

What is pretty unique about this weapon, is that the upper receiver resembles an AK-47, while the lower receiver looks like an AR-15. Notice the gas tube in the pictures, and you can see for yourself the AK appearance.

Kel-Tec designed this rifle without a pistol grip. I’ve heard that this was to make it more of a “sporting” rifle, and to get by the various “Assault Rifle” prohibitions in certain communist states.

For survivalists, this rifle would be a great addition to the survival armory. The price is half of the costs of other assault rifles. The weight is fantastic, and performance is on-par with the M-4 battle rifle.

Time Eternal

Time whispers silently into my ears; it whispers lovingly of thee; of moments intimate, of joys within the serenity of your touch; of words spoken in the shadows of togetherness as time journeys forth into the twilight of our lives; forever reminding me of you, forever giving me comfort and peace that our spirits wander close, though seperate our paths maylead…

You and I; two strangers; flourshing in hope, found of desire; feeling the embrace that only two like spirits can feel; wandering hand in hand together in our minds, yet living life a league apart. Perchance our meeting in this lifetime, perhaps already touching in a previous life; this already ordained; this already consummated upon the altars if time itself…

Wherfore Thous Walks…..There I Be; Wherefore thou feels the light of love upon thy heart…There I Am; a
reflection of hope glimmering within; a shadow crossing into paradise eternal; blessed in comfort that love finds happy our souls, at peace in the knowledge that togetherness finds again our union of hearts. Contentment swelling within that you and I have touched one another in this life; our fingers finding neither skin or bone; yet our hearts mingling as only you can feel, and as only I can give to you…

How then my Dearest; can I Not speak these things to you; How can I keep still the quiet rush of surrender
giving way within me as yet another dawn creeps across the landscape of time itself; to appease the yearning
enticing my mind and perpetually stirring my craving of thee into the farthest reaches of my existence. For
to be as such; would be as to loose my eyes; to loose that burning fire consummated from the fiery depths of
love eternal – No; these things I breath; these things I feel with the damnation of existence; these things
uniquely mine to bear; and yours, uniquely yours to share…

Each night as I fix my eyes upon the stars I see you smiling in their reflection. Each day as I revel in the sunshine I feel your warmth touching me. Each moment as I go about the ways of my life, I feel a connection with yours. My senses flooded; my eyes cast unto the distant horizon seeking a vision of you so prevailing upon my mind, it fills me with a deeper perception of who I am, and and what I seek. In all that I am, and in all that I attain; I see you there with me. In everything that I feel; you are there feeling it with me, and in mind, body, and spirit; I realize you are part of me; always having been so; eternally forever a nourishment sustaining my wholeness and the spirit that carries me throughout the ages…

Forever it has been like this; forever more so it shall remain, until life renewed awakens the sleeping embrace only found once in this lifetime; when at last time finds us together again pleasing our hearts, and satisfying the eternal hunger each finds in the other.

In that precious momen; for us….Time eternal stands still…

TO BE A MAN

There are hundreds of ways in which men try to will things that cannot be controlled: we will to sleep; we will to have others like us, and we will to have sexual virility. In all these things, the force of our will does not always work, because what we want is uncontrollable. They come to us and an outcome of many factors-when the situation is right-when we have become ready for them.

When we could not let go, when we did not know the answers, we became more and more anxious. Then we turned into addicts of these perplexities, or became dependent on escapes from anxiety and wilfulness.

Life is difficult enough as it is. We never reach a point where our path is free of obstacles and hardships-and regardless of how much we grow, how faithful we are to ourselves and other things; nothing changes the fact that death is still there for us.

As painful and difficult as life is; life is also deeply meaningful and worthwhile when we submit to its realities, and live with a sense of understanding and peace.-After we stop living in denial of that simple truth, and accept the hard facts about life, we see that we need each other. We need relationships to stay sane, we need to pull together and support one another the way people do in difficult times. Rugged individualism isn’t always good for real people, in the real world.

We need relationships so we can celebrate and make music, and encourage one another. We need relationships so we can laugh and make jokes, and tell our personal stories-and we need to stand together in
order to help each other through the fog of confusion we fill our minds with.

We do not need to create difficulties and pain in our lives. Those are already present; they come with the

package of human existence. Some of us are actually bewildered when we aren’t pressed by trouble-as we
grow, and our lives become ordered; many of us thought; “life seems to be going so well, I wonder what’s wrong”. We have become more accustomed to remorse and crisis, than to joy and serenity.

What lies before us today is an unpainted picture. There are many possibilities for events to take a good
turn. In this we must believe and affirm the good things in order to accept them.

When our only expectations are pain and trouble; they probably will be our only experience. However; when we have faith in ourselves, and others that a better life is possible; we open ourselves to receive it, and we
learn to control our own selfishness.

Because when we are selfish, we close off all channels of exchange with others. Not only are we grabbing and holding all the goods or attention we can get, but we are denying others the possibility sharing with us the
benefits.

We may be selfish in material goods, but there are others ways too: Some of us expect our spouses to meet
our needs, while making little effort to meet theirs. By contrast, our generosity and welcoming responses
nourish the spirit within us to create a good environment for growth. Sometimes though; giving doesn’t come easily, until we have a more generous spirit, and are in touch with our own vulnerabilities.

All of life is fragile, and we need each other to have a good life. We can truly hold onto nothing but ourselves, giving what we can of our time, our energy, and our love, helps create the kind of life we want to live in.

We are told constantly that the way to happiness is through material possessions…But what does a Man
really want..?

He wants a feeling that his life makes sense. He wants the give and take of a loving relationship. He wants
to feel he has a place in the world and can make a contribution-and he wants the feeling that he is not standing still, but growing in those ways.

Being poor certainly limit our options, but material wealth is an empty seduction. Putting all our energy
into capturing wealth may make us rich, but it also can become an addiction that causes unhappiness. We
become much richer in our souls and in our lives when we take the risks that help us to improve our
relationships, and teach us how to live balanced lives.

Trying to control and change people around us creates problems in our relationships. When people we love are expressing themselves, we are thinking about what we wish they would say, and it blocks us from hearing
clearly. A need for safety and a guarantee that we won’t be abandoned urges us to manipulate the people
that we love.

We know that we have innocent motives. We say we want only the best, and that we are only trying to  protect ourselves or be helpful. But we hide from the effects our actions have on our relationships.

We seem to be more trapped in these self-centered behaviors with the ones we are closest to. But we can
slowly change ourselves by releasing our security grip on others. That way we can focus more what others are saying to us, than on changing how they think and feel. Intimacy is clearly seeing each other and knowing the difference as well as the similarities. It requires that both people be able to walk separate paths.

We could probably feel more tranquil if the world were a simple place and always gave us simple answers. But we are faced with many ambiguous and uncertain situations-the changing role of men and women can
often leave us bewildered. We are engaged in the development of relationships that have lives of their
own, and it’s not always clear where they are headed.

Even within ourselves we have contradictory feelings, and it’s difficult to come up with clear answers.
Since we cannot force simplicity upon the world, we must turn to ourselves for a new response. We can
become more tolerant of our own unsettled predicaments. We can learn to have faith, that good comes from change-things have a way of settling-out and clarifying with time.

As we develop patience with these questions and unclear issues in our lives, we gain a much deeper serenity. The renewal of this serenity comes only after we accept it by value in itself, and happens only after we establish an honest relationship with ourselves.

No longer can we excuse our minimizing white lies that push aside the truth. No longer can we deny our private fears and self doubts.. In our growing sincerity with ourselves, we can admit our weakness.

The Start Reality Is Simply The Truth…! We build upon solid reality, rather than fiction. Denying the truth
to ourselves always made us weaker, than the facts themselves ever could. Viewing these facts from a different position of acceptance shows they aren’t nearly as bad as we first thought.

A Holier-Than-Thou attitude within us is often a sign of unconscious dishonesty. Who hasn’t had the feeling
of being superior to the angry outburst, or tears of another man-and then found themselves in the very same
spot the next day.-What we least want to admit to ourselves, we are most likely to feel self righteous about. Since our blind spots and self deceptions leave us vulnerable, we must attack them vigorously. The man
we feel most self righteous toward, may be the man we could learn the most from…

Yet so many devastating things can bring us to our knees. With experience we learn that pain and trouble are a part of life. Most of us have fought with everyday realties as if they were our own personal enemies. We accepted every challenge, thinking we had to be winners every time.

Sometimes we feel broken by the loss of a love, by a disappointing job, or our powerlessness over a loved
one; But in our brokenness we find our true humanity, it is the beginning of our spiritual awakening. As men
we were taught that: surrender” was a word for losers and weaklings. Life teaches us that opening ourselves
to our own brokenness open us to a new kind of wholeness.

After we acknowledge that we are not in control of every event in our lives, and after realizing our own
place in the world, we can live the richness of finding peace, serenity, and tranquility within ourselves…

Alaska Watchmen Group "Blow Out Day" Video

A few members of the Alaska Watchmen Group having some fun riding our ATV's in one of the training areas.

What a day--good friends, good weather, lots of mud, and the scenery of Alaska just a few miles from home. Training was accomplished earlier than expected, so we took the time to scope out some trails. Most of the trails were still petty muddy from the spring thaw, and the recent rains. Nonetheless, the trail ride was GREAT! Hot coffee, snacks, and the crips wind blowing off the glaceirs made for a gorgeous time out in the woods.

THE 2012 MAYAN PROPHECIES: LIFE AFTER THE POLE SHIFT

THE 2012 MAYAN PROPHECIES:

Life After The Pole Shift;

There has been much discussion centered on this subject. Many people believe that the world will end; that all of humanity, or at least a good portion of it, will perish during the onslaught of these events.

There has never been any real scientific modeling of what could happen under the most extreme conditions. Scientists have concluded that our planet has undergone five separate pole shift (type) scenarios during the history of this little rock that is ours.

So what will happen?

There will be no more Starbuck coffee shops around. The movie theaters will cease to exist, and rush hour commuting will be a thing of the past…

Just go ahead and shoot yourself now!

During a pole shift, the earth’s magnetic lines start an abrupt travel, or leaning in another direction. It’s been suggested that the mantel that we live on, in other words “The Crust”, will shift position. That has serious ramifications. Alaska would end up just about where Hawaii is right now. Imagine Polar bears and icebergs floating around in that tropical area.

The oceans would slosh all over the place. Much like what happens when you fill the bathtub to the brim, and then get into it. Rubber ducky’s all over the place, and a wet floor. The polar ice caps would melt; adding several feet to the sea levels, and that in itself would be enough to wipe the coastlines

Coastal cities would be inundate by a massive flood that reaches 150 to 200 miles inland. Every river, stream, creek, pond, and lake along the coast would quickly become part of the rising ocean. Fresh water fish would die in the salt water, as would many of the algae that inhabits fresh water. Of course, drinking water would suffer as well, since many of the metropolitan water supplies are pumped from rivers and lakes.

Water is the essence of life, and without drinking water, instant Starbucks coffee suddenly becomes a thing of the past.
