Over the past four days, life has become unbearable for the people of southern Israel. With over 300 rockets exploding in Israeli territory, their days were reduced to keeping within 15 seconds of a bomb shelter
Video of rocket attacks by Palestinian terrorists. Actual footage from people in their homes as the rockets are raining down into their neighborhood. So far there have been 200 rockets fired into Israel.
Tell me again how these bastards in Gaza can claim that they are freedom fighters.

Solar Storms:
The GOES 12 through 15 spacecraft each carry a sophisticated Solar X-ray Imager to monitor the Sun’s X-rays for the early detection of solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and other phenomena that impact the geospace environment. This early warning is important because travelling solar disturbances affect not only the safety of humans in high-altitude missions, such as human spaceflight, but also military and commercial satellite communications. In addition, coronal mass ejections can damage long-distance electric power grids, causing extensive power blackouts.
Solar radiation is measured through many different scales. Each scale represents a severity class for humans and our electronics. The higher the class—the more intense and dangerous a solar storm
Geomagnetic Storms: disturbances in the geomagnetic field caused by gusts in the solar wind that blows by Earth.
Solar Radiation Storms: elevated levels of radiation that occur when the numbers of energetic particles increase.
Radio Blackouts: disturbances of the ionosphere caused by X-ray emissions from the Sun.

Iranian Oil Crisis:
Over the last few years I have written about the possibility that Iran would begin to ramp up their fifth column attacks when confronted with economic sanctions.
Last Sunday 30-year old Iranian Dissident was assassinated outside of her home in Texas. Gelareh Bagherzadeh was an outspoken critic of Iran's fledgling democracy. Her political activism got the attention of the military dictatorship ruling the Iranian people.
Sometime around midnight, according to the Daily Mail, Gelareh Bagherzadeh, a 30-year-old genetics student, was struck by a bullet that ripped through the passenger door window as she talked on the phone with her ex-boyfriend. According to police, an unknown assailant sneaked up to the passenger’s side of the 30-year-old’s car and shot her at point blank range in the head.
Bagherzadeh’s car motor was still running when she was shot, and it subsequently smashed into a garage door just steps from her parents’ home in an upscale community southwest of Houston, Texas. A neighbor heard the sound of the shattering glass and the running vehicle and called the police.
The major television personalities are just now starting to realize that this wasn’t murder—that Ms. Bagherzadeh was killed by Iranian Special Forces operatives that have infiltrated onto American soil through our loose and unsecured southern borders, or through inferior immigration polices. But this isn’t the first time that Iranian terrorist have struck in the USA:
Amid the crisis centering around Iran; arises the looming specter of war. Throughout the last year Iran has stepped-up it’s nuclear weapons program; kidnapped several American citizens, and recently imposed the Death Sentence on another American charged with spying.
Iran’s constant barrage of military rhetoric against America, Israel, and western countries has progressively worsened to the point that Iran's military forces have threatened to close down the Strait of Hormuz; a move threat that is taken very serious by every nation on the globe.

Amidst all of the doom and gloom surrounding 2012; there exists a survival scenario of unparalleled magnitude. A scenario that should be part of every family's survival plan.
The Mid-East Situation:
America's interests in the Mid-East has inescapably centered around the need for increased oil production for an oil-hungry world. The United States, China, Russia, and Europe are the world's leading oil-hungry nations. Economic growth in those countries has created an even higher demand for oil based fuels; all of which contribute to the overall decline in world-wide oil production.
Here in Alaska; the oil boom began in 1977. During the next ten years the production levels swelled; and then sharply dropped by 16% in 1988. Each year since then, the production capacity has slowed by an average of 6% per year. Currently only 1/3 of the oil flows through the Alaska Pipeline, as it did in 1977.
What does this have to do with survivalism? In a nutshell; everything!
Nearly every facet of life in America can trace a direct connection to oil. Without oil, the major industries would slowly choke to the death, the strategic defense of America would be limited, and life in America would take a radical spiral downwards.
It's already happening; and most people, and the media; refuse to acknowledge it:
In Alaska the price for a gallon of gasoline has in the past reached upwards of $8.00 to $12.00 per gallon. Remote native villages are the prime targets, due to the enormous distances and costs involved to transport the precious fuels. Food, clothing, and other consumer goods cost nearly six times as much in the backwoods areas of Alaska, as they do in the inhabited cities of Fairbanks and Anchorage.
Using this as a template; it's easy to then comprehend what would happen to oil prices, as well as the global supply-chain distribution network, if Iran makes good on their threat to close down the Strait Of Hormuz.

Forty percent of the world's oil flows through this volatile region. Any disruption of the oil distribution, would send prices rocketing upwards at a colossal rate; thereby creating economic conditions affecting every family in the United States.
Oil is the nexus of all of these industries. Each industry is vital to life as we know it today. The production of food is the most important industry. If farmers cannot afford to buy fuel, then immediately the demand for vegetables, grains, and meat products will affect the supply-side equation; and thus steep prices are resultant as major food production companies and grocery store chains begin a bidding war which drives prices even higher.
If one takes a very close look at the events occurring in the Mideast today; it should not come as surprise to see that what is really occurring, is a war of attrition against the oil-dependent Western nations.
Iran, Libya, and Syria; as well as Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon have experienced internal civil uprisings. The world rejoices that another petty dictator has fallen, and America and western countries actively support these uprisings hoping that a western style democracy emerges; but the stark reality is that these former(oil producing) dictatorships are slowly being replaced with Islamic Caliphates. Seeing the "writing on the wall" isn't too difficult. Those nations that produce oil, and have in the past maintained friendly relationships with the West--are being assimilated by the Muslim Brotherhood.
if this trend continues, I am of the personal opinion that the monarchy of Saudi Arabia (King Abdullah) will soon face increased civil uprisings that will be initiated, and promulgated at the hands of Islamists already arising in the Arabian Peninsula at an alarming rate.
" According to a 2009 U.S. State Department communication by Hillary Clinton, United States Secretary of State, (disclosed as part of the Wikileaks U.S. 'cables leaks' controversy in 2010) "donors in Saudi Arabia constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide"] Part of this funding arises through the zakat (or religious tax) required to be paid by all Saudis to charities, and amounting to at least 2.5 percent of their income. Although many charities are genuine, others, it is alleged, serve as fronts for money laundering and terrorist financing operations. While many Saudis contribute to those charities in good faith believing their money goes toward good causes, it has been alleged that others know full well the terrorist purposes to which their money will be applied."

Saudi Arabia is already a hot-bed of geo-political wars. Recently, several uprising have occurred which have resulted in Saudi military forces quashing pro-democracy demonstrations. America kept its nose out of those affairs simply because we are dependent upon the oil being pumped out of those deserts. Most of the oilfield engineers are Americans and Europeans. It was the skills and knowledge of the West, that turned this former desert tribe, into a nation which exports 75% of its crude to the rest of the world.
Should the Muslim Brotherhood fulfill its objective; the House Of Saud will fall; to be replaced by an Islamic (Sharia) Caliphate that will strangle every non-Islamic country on the planet through a systematic agenda of financial terrorism.
As part of the strict Sharia Law; the Muslim Brotherhood is obligated to collect "jizyah"; a tax applied against all Non-Muslim, as well as Muslims that have the financial ability, or are wealthy. Certain Islamic Hadiths describe under what condition Jizyah can be collected. Yet--all of them state that Non-Muslims must be levied this tax if they will not convert to Islam. In some cases, other Hadiths also demand Muslim nations to go to war with those that refuse to pay the tax.
Behind the scenes among these Arab uprisings; one can clearly see the handiwork of the Muslim Brotherhood. Emboldened by their recent victories on other Islamic countries, their next target has already been lined-up: Saudi Arabia...
With $30 Billion Arms Deal, U.S. Bolsters Saudi Ties
Israel & Iran:
At the forefront of Mideast news remains two antagonists; Iran (as well as its proxy states,) and Israel.
Since the Shah was ousted from Iran in 1979; this Islamic country has been involved in nearly every terrorist action across the globe. Even though the Shah; "Mohammad Reza Pahlavi" was a dictator in his own right--he was also friendly to the West. Consequently he established ties with Israel, a move seen by many westerners as a step towards democracy. The "Students" who initiated the military coup of 1979 were headed by two familiar names; Ayatollah Khomeini, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Anwar Sadat; the President of modern Egypt, that had established close relationships with both Israel and the West; was assassinated by fanatical members of the Muslim Brotherhood. Khalid Ahmed Showky Al-Islambouli; an Egyptian military officer with strong ties to Iran's Revolutionary Council, was the leader of a four man hit-squad that killed Sadat. After being found guilty and put to death by Egyptian authorities; a street in Tehran was named in his honor.
Iran support of globally recognized terror groups has increased each year with devastating results. Its nuclear ambitions are not for the acquisition of a WMD; but as a tool to be used against the vast oil fields in the region. Granted, that should Iran ever have the capability to launch nuclear weapons against
Israel, it will probably do so. But for now; I think Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would like nothing better that to control the oil flowing out of the Mideast region. He who controls the oil, controls the world...
Iran has actively provided financial support, military weapons and munitions, as well as technical experts to those countries opposed to Israel.
Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Libya, Lebanon, and the terrorist groups operating out of the West bank areas, have all been armed and trained by this rogue (Islamic) militaristic nation. Consequently; of the six Islamic nations--four have fought against Israel in the past, and one continues to conduct protracted attacks against Israel, land-locked nation.
For survivalist in the United States; the consequences are far reaching indeed. In a "blink of an eye" this situation can go south without warning. There are already many things working behind the scenes to bring this forward. These issues have the capacity to initiate a global meltdown of biblical proportions.
Summary: There is absolutely nothing that you or I can do to alter this situation. America, and other Western nations will have to continue to deal with these oil-producing sheiks from a political standpoint. However; should Iran actually make moves towards closure of the Strait Of Hormuz, then it's likely that military action will result. In my view; those nations, such as Turkey and Egypt that previously had political ties with Israel, and withdrawn those ties; will suddenly appear out of nowhere as a proxy military force whose sole intent is to destroy Israel, and control the oil distribution centers of the region.
Scenario:
The tensions in the Mideast are rapidly escalating. Israel's Prime Minister calls for a bi-partisan United Nations investigation into claims that Lebanon's Hezbollah has acquired soviet chemical munitions from Iran's Revolutionary Guards. Several European countries, as well as the US cabinet quickly condemn the use of chemical weapons. Much saber rattling ensues over the course of two weeks.
A team of covert Hezbollah operatives infiltrate into the heart of Jerusalem, detonating a chemical weapon. 200 Israeli's die as a result of the explosion. Within minutes Israel's Civilian Defense Minister urges Israeli citizens to take precautionary measures against the introduction of biological and chemical attack.
The Israeli Defense Forces launch a massive missile barrage into Lebanon. IDF Fighter aircraft sweep across the desert to drop their heavy-ordinance payloads into Lebanon's major cities. Paratroopers seize key Hezbollah facilities and round-up Hezbollah leadership. American made M-1 Abrahams of the Israeli tank forces race across the desert towards the Lebanese borders. Helicopter gunships supporting Israeli troop-transport helicopters engage Hezbollah forces along the major highways leading into the heart of Beirut.
All across the globe there is outraged condemnation against Israel's punishing retaliatory strike into Lebanon. Vivid images of dead and dying Lebanese children quickly flood the news channels. Shaky videos emerge of IDF troops gunning down surrendering Hezbollah fighters.
The mid-east is once again embroiled in another major war...
Tension mount even higher as Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad calls for the eradication of Israel; urging Syria, Egypt, Jordan, and other Islamic military powers to "Put an end to Israeli aggression".
Here in the US; the 82nd Airborne is placed on QRF (Quick Reaction Force) with a 4-hour recall. C-5, C-130, as well as C-141 aircraft are parked on the runways ready to go at a moment's notice.
The 5th Mechanized Infantry, along with other supporting elements begin preparations to deploy to the Mid-east theater. All across the US; military leaves and training exercise are cancelled, as the country ramps-up its war preparations.
Two Days Later:
Along the Golan Heights separating Israel from Syria, the armored and ground war reaches epic proportions as Jordanian and Syrian military units engage the Israeli s. The Negev desert of southern Israel once against is center-stage as Jordanian and Egyptian armored vehicles rumble across the Suez canal.
At 2:45 am a flight of Iranian Mig-30 Jet Aircraft streak across the Gulf Of Oman through Saudi Arabia. Armed with the latest Soviet built sophisticated air-to-ground rockets, they pound Tel Aviv and Haifa with laser guided munitions.
A submarine launched tactical nuclear weapon is introduced by the Iranian navy; the loss of life is staggering. The smoking ruins of Hebron, Bethlehem, and Jericho are testament to violence playing out in the region.
America responds by deploying the 82nd Airborne Division, as well as two Naval Carrier Task-Forces. 4000 US marines flood through the Red Sea. Countless American fighter aircraft roar across the night skies in route to their assigned bombing targets.
Expatriated Iranians in America begin their fifth column attacks against major American cities. Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, Phoenix, and other American cities come under assault by elements of Iranian Special Forces trained loyalists.
Explosive devices detonate in shopping malls, schools, churches, and government centers. Electrical and telephone stations are destroyed, and the drinking water reservoirs are poisoned. Home-made anthrax and other viruses are introduced into the air--many succumb to the biological attack against civilian targets. Escalating gunfire rips through quiet neighborhoods. Police forces are unable to quell the rising tide of violence. State Guard troops are deployed to protect critical infrastructure, and to restore peace within controlled areas.
Martial Law is quickly declared--road blocks and check points pop-up seemingly within minutes. Private firearms are quickly seized--many Americans die in a hail of gunfire refusing to relinquish their guns.
State militia and resistance units muster against government forces. Violent clashes occur almost around the clock in every major city in the country.
Life on the streets of America has just taken a radical left turn...
The Test:
· Are you cognizant of how the events in the Mid-East affects life in America?
· What is the "Trigger" that predicates a response from you during these events?
· Considering the immediate disruption to America's supply-chain distribution system; would you have the capacity to feed yourself for an extended period of time?
· Do you have the ability and willingness to endure the harshness of a prolonged crisis?
· How would you react to an armed-incursion into your neighborhood by militant Iranian loyalist?
· When faced with State Guard troops demanding the surrender of your firearms; how will you react?
· If you are planning to Bug Out--do you have a Safe Area to evacuate to?
· Are you planning on Bugging Out yourself, or will others be accompanying you?
· Do you have the necessary supplies cached for such an emergency?
· If you are under doctor's care--how will you continue treatment?
· Have you considered the physiological impact such an event could have on your children?
· Are you actually prepared for this type of scenario?
This test doesn't have any right or wrong answers. It's designed to get you to start thinking in terms of reality based survival strategies. If you think that this scenario is far-fetched; then I would offer that you haven't taken the time to explore the existential threats that we as a country face. Take a very close look at the World Events that are occurring at this very moment; and you will quickly understand the significance of how such a scenario might play-out in real world situations.
Fundamentally there is absolutely nothing that you and I can do about the events in the Mid-East. We are all victims to one degree, or another. What we can do, is to prepare our families for these eventualities, and do our very best to make contact with people that share our views and opinions.
This means "shucking" those ill-conceived notions about Bugging Out and living off the land. That might work for awhile--but at some point you will have to resupply yourself. Those that use this "crutch" are in for a very rude awakening when SHTF. They will either perish in a few weeks, or somebody's gonna' put a bullet into their chest when they are caught stealing from other survivalists.
Take the time to walk across the street and get to know your neighbors. Form alliances with like-minded people that agree to band-together during a crisis. You cannot do this alone. There is safety and strength in numbers--small groups have a much better chance at surviving a crisis, than the "lone wolf" survivalist does.
During these terrible times, you can only own the piece of real-estate that your feet occupy. There's always going to be people out there that are more violent. more intelligent in the ways of conflict, and more apt to take your life for a measly can of beef jerky. Human kind has always revert to this type of "survival" during adversities. Our history is filled with stories of these atrocities. Do not make the false assumption that you are immune to it.
This is the main reason that I started The Alaska Watchmen Group. During a crisis, I want to be surrounded by people that I can trust, and people that I can count on when SHTF. We talk on the phone, meet at the pizza parlor, and conduct classes and training sessions together. When things go radically south there's no doubt in my mind that Alaska watchmen will come together as a group. That is what we are all about. Our families are part of an extended family group. I would take a bullet for anyone in this group, and if a member dies during a crisis, their kids become my kids. That my friends is real survival--not internet based survival.
I urge each of you to consider this in the long-term perspective. There is no other way...
